Hosted by RMI and The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP)

About the Event
In many rural areas, stand-alone minigrids have become a lifeline—delivering electricity to communities where the national grid does not reach. These systems are being rapidly deployed across Africa, transforming lives by powering villages, schools, clinics, and farms.
But in peri-urban and grid-adjacent areas, where the grid is present but weak or unreliable, a new model is emerging: Interconnected Minigrids (IMGs).
IMGs combine solar power, battery storage, and backup generation while remaining connected to the main grid. This hybrid model enhances energy reliability and resilience, and is already gaining momentum in countries like Nigeria, where the first four IMGs are now operational.
Why Attend?
Join RMI and GEAPP for a dynamic webinar exploring:
- How IMGs work and why they’re a game-changer
- Insights from Nigeria’s first IMG projects
- Strategies for scaling IMGs in emerging markets
- Opportunities for collaboration across the energy ecosystem
This is a must-attend event for energy practitioners, policy makers, developers, regulators, and investors working toward universal, reliable, and clean energy access.
