The Africa Minigrids Program (AMP) is proud to announce a refresh of the website! Launched at the UNFCCC 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the initiative aims to tackle the barriers to scaling minigrids, many of which are connected to policy regulations and financial investments, to ensure the most vulnerable populations across 21 African countries have access to clean, affordable, reliable energy.
Since the launch, seven 1st round countries have launched national projects, including Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Malawi, Somalia, and Djibouti. This website is a resource portal and community for off-grid energy experts and practitioners looking to problem-solve and drive solutions together working in these countries.
If you have any questions or feedback about how we can improve the website for you, please reach out to [email protected].
We will continue to make updates and share the latest on country projects and industry news, as well as highlight AMP champions, events, community stories, and much more to showcase the transformative power of solar minigrids.
Please check back regularly, and be sure to sign up for the AMP Newsletter and follow on LinkedIn.
