Q: What’s your story—how did you end up working in the clean energy industry?

A: I hold an MSc in Renewable Energy Utilization and Management. Previously, I served as Director of Energy Utilization and Technology Promotion at the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Currently, I work at the Ministry of Water and Energy as the program manager for AMP and the focal point for the African Development Bank.

Q: Briefly describe your role and involvement with AMP so far.

A: I lead and manage AMP project activities, supporting implementation on the ground.

Q: What excites you most about the potential of AMP, specifically in your country?

A: The AMP excites me because it addresses electricity access for rural communities using clean, renewable energy through a new cooperative delivery model. It also offers valuable lessons for introducing and successfully integrating the private sector into rural electrification.

Q: What is one thing you want people to know about minigrids and access to electricity?

A: In many rural communities, access to electricity through minigrids is seen as a basic necessity, much like food and shelter.
