On COP29’s Gender Day, RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA) and representatives of the Africa Minigrids Program (AMP), Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) Network, Climate Finance Access Network (CFAN), and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) hosted a virtual roundtable featuring women leaders in the energy transition from across the world. During the event, participants discussed the criticality of women’s leadership in the energy transition and shared their experiences and perspectives on working to advance renewable energy projects in the Caribbean, India, the Pacific, and sub-Saharan Africa.
AMP Nigeria’s Saudatu Bobboi shared her journey as a woman leading renewable energy projects, highlighting the importance of acquiring essential skills to ease entry into the sector, participating in events, seizing internship opportunities, expanding networks, and utilizing other resources.
