Nigeria’s national project implemented by the REA was the first to commence implementation, and is designed as an enabler project of the Energising Agriculture Programme (EAP) which aims to advance economic opportunities through agriculture and productive sectors in rural communities.

AMP Nigeria will contribute to several of the  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an estimate of 70,063 direct project beneficiaries out of which 34,559 are women, and an emissions reduction amounting to F 74.2 ktCO2e.

Additionally officials hope the sectoral approach will help close the energy access gap, strengthening national security, climate action, and food production for people in Nigeria and across the region, while catalyzing private investment.
