Masterclass: Tariffs & Regulatory Frameworks for Minigrid Deployment

Masterclass: Tariffs & Regulatory Frameworks for Minigrid Deployment

This masterclass cuts through the complexity of tariffs and regulatory frameworks to focus on practical approaches that enable minigrid deployment at scale.

Access to electricity in rural Africa remains one of the continent’s most pressing development challenges. Minigrids offer a proven and scalable solution; however, misaligned tariff structures and regulatory uncertainty continue to constrain deployment and deter investment. This masterclass convenes key stakeholders to address these barriers and identify pathways that support both public policy objectives and private sector participation.

Participants will engage with leading experts, regulators, and practitioners in a focused discussion on tariff design, regulatory frameworks, and investment strategies that enhance affordability for end users, ensure financial sustainability for operators, and improve bankability for investors.
