Congratulations to Husk Power Systems for securing over $100 million to continue their mission to electrify rural communities across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
As the largest-ever financing in the minigrid industry thus far, Husk Power plans to power 1,400 communities and expand into new markets, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and Madagascar, with two-thirds of the $100 million going towards Africa. The capital injection includes $43 million in equity from several investors, and this follows the deployment of over 200 minigrids in Nigeria and India.
