Colorado-based clean energy company Husk Power Systems has received $20 million in debt financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for minigrids in Nigeria. The EIB financing is part of a larger $100 million awarded and announced in October 2023 to accelerate energy access in Africa and South Asia.
This is significant news, as it is the largest corporate debt financing for solar minigrids in the region to date. It will benefit enterprises and homeowners and be used to scale commercial, industrial, and productive uses of energy.
