Nigeria commissions first interconnected 352.24kW minigrid

The Federal government through the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria (REA) has recently commissioned the country’s first interconnected minigrid projects.

The 352.24kW interconnected minigrid will supply electricity to 2,000 households and businesses, and has been touted by Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, Managing Director of the electrification agency” as a testament to the power of partnership and innovation in driving rural electrification”. The project marks another milestone for the country with ambitions to achieve universal access by 2030.
